I’ve missed you all very much and believe it or not I really feel a sense of loss now that my daily apple making is completed. I’ve also been very happy to have a break from daily blogging but I’ll be back at it now although with many different topics and writings and a bit less frequently.
I’ve been keeping busy getting all of the 120 or so original apples packaged up and sent out all over the world. I have shipped them all except for a few to Australia that will go this week – and then on to the Art Posters. It has been a very big project just getting everything shipped so thank you all for your patience. Small confession… I didn’t have enough apples (at least apples that I felt were “good enough” to ship to people who had so generously donated to the Apple-A-Thon so, yes – I’ve been painting more apples! And, that is where it hit me that I needed to start keeping record of the number I was “on” especially since I am hoping to continue making them and posting some type of apple creation here weekly. Today’s image is Apple No. 554 & the original is for sale on my Etsy.com site. It is larger than what I usually create at 10 inches square. It sure looks like a lot of my apples but this one means a lot to me since I wrote out a lot about AS as the background. I’ll be creating apples in many forms, sizes, and mediums moving forward – please stay tuned!
I will be sending out a weekly eNewsletter with the week’s new apple, news and information about Spondylitis and Autoimmune Arthritis, as well as interesting bits about ways to use art for good causes. I’ll be highlighting different AS and chronic illness bloggers as well as “chronic creatives” – those of us with chronic illness who are in creative fields or making beautiful art. Please contact me if you are interested in being one of these spotlights.
I’ll also be posting about my making art in general – it makes me very happy to do share my creative endeavors so there will be posts as they come to me but only one email a week so please make sure to sign up over to the right so that you don’t miss anything! I signed up for the sketchbook project and my topic is treehouses! It should be lots of fun and I’ll be sharing that process here with you. I couldn’t stay away for too long. I look forward to where I go now (and what I’ll be when I grow up)! I have NO idea!
Have a beautiful and peaceful day!
Apple No. 554 was created in gold gel pen (the background is all about AS), graphite, watercolor, and acrylic. I’m loving using metallics – unfortunately you cannot see them well from a scan. Many of the original apples that I did for the Apple-A-Thon have a touch of metallic which I hope everyone enjoys.
A new creation – I just listed Two Tall Vases for sale on my etsy shop. Enter coupon code APPLEORCHARD for 20% off!
