Sketches & Stitches

Sometimes I sketch…

Here’s an piece I did today that started from the sketch below. Making a daily piece feels really good and the side bonus is that it gets me focused again on being creatively productive and experimenting. Small daily pieces, where the sky is the limit will really help me find out where I want to go with my more involved art. This summer one of my goals is to work on a collection to get placed in a gallery and currently I have no idea what I want to do or where I’m going with this. I look forward to finding out where my sketches and stitches take us. Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing the process here on my blog.

Until tomorrow!

In The Studio today March 27, 2012 I created this mixed media piece made with wax, watercolor, a piece from my old dictionary, and thread. I hope you enjoy it!

I like the idea of machine stitching on a picture and a lovely picture it is.  Cute idea of including the flower definition.  Have you ever made a set of birthday/occasion cards  or thought of doing that?  I think this one would make a great birthday greeting card.
Today I’ve been to the Melbourne International Garden and Plant Show in the beautiful Exhibition gardens and building in the city.  Just spectacular and beautiful weather too!
So tonight I’m feeling tired but happy:)
